Would large scale attacks on islamic holy sites be sufficent to end terroristic attacks by islamic groups? Is bombing Mecca a reasonable, ethical, or pragmatic way to respond to terror attacks such as 9/11?

That is a lie perpetuated by terrorists and those who have never read the Koran. Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Koran. It is only "holy" because Muslims hate the Jews and Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jews.
