... and high ranking members of his regime, why did America simply not hire Isreal to assassinate them? Give them military support for it, perhaps?
*Question posed by my Grandfather* Choose why, or why not. I'll take the other. This post has been edited by Demosthenes: Jul 23 2005, 08:17 AM |

QUOTE and high ranking members of his regime, why did America simply not hire Isreal to assassinate them? Give them military support for it, perhaps? Yeah, because Israel is the best choice to assasinate a leader of an Arab country. Saddam had numerous doubles, and hadn't used a telephone for ten years, it was hard to track him down. |

Where do you get the idea that Israel would want the job of hired assassine for the US or any other country? What a put down.
Your grandfather's question has no merit. Ask him why he didn't hire out for the job if it's such a moral, political, economic and ethical solution. |

Because it's really really difficult to assassinate well guarded paranoid dictators.

And then there is the issue of who would replace him...

I think the point he is trying to make is that the war couldn't be avoided. I can't really understand him, he lost most of his jaw from cancer. I'll ask him again.
